A Bit About Me
The dance world is my world, it's all I've ever known.
I grew up as a dancer, having trained in all styles for over 30 years. As a young dancer, I grew up studying RAD and CSTD and completing exams in all styles to an advanced level. As a young adult, I completed 2 years full time Performing Arts training, and shortly after, began my career as a dance teacher. This saw me teaching extensively throughout Melbourne for over 20 years. In 2009 I enjoyed the unique experience of travelling to South Africa with Mayibuye in the position of head dance teacher in a Dance & Life Skills camp held for disadvantaged youth. Then, in 2010 I took off on an 8 month contract to teach dance in Hong Kong at the Glenda Allen Dance Academy. Whilst there, I was also lucky to spend time choreographing for the Scotty and Lulu Live Children's Show.
Shortly after, I founded Step in Time Studio of Dance (now rebranded to Academy of Dance Epping). I loved leading the team at Step in Time for over 13 years. Step in Time cemented itself in the industry as a successful training ground for many young dancers in Melbourne's North, with my choreography and leadership gaining multiple awards and placings on the competition scene, as well as being regular performers in Melbourne's most iconic community events, such as the Moomba Parade, Royal Melbourne Show, and dance shows such as Dance Aid and Dancers Unite, and of course, not forgetting taking my choreography all the way to the U.S.A, having teams perform at Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood Boulevard.
During this time, I also co-founded Spotlight Dance Competitions, and enjoyed providing a safe and enjoyable competition atmosphere to the Melbourne dance industry, building a strong reputation which still continues today.

Now, as a Mum of two, I have made the tough decision to sell my beloved Step in Time to the reputable AOD brand, who will continue to carry on the legacy of Step in Time. Which allows me more time to enjoy my most important role in life - being a Mum.
I have now shifted my focus, whilst managing to remain a strong part of the dance industry as both an adjudicator and examiner, and also business assistant to many fellow DSO's.

As an adjudicator, I always strive to bring my fair and nurturing approach to critiques and results, whilst aiming to provide all performers with valuable feedback which they can take away with them, to assist in their improvement each time they hit the stage.
